Job summary

JLL is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Center Facilities in Amarillo, TX. You will work with the Chief Engineer to oversee facility operations, manage technical teams, and optimize data center performance, reliability, and efficiency.

The role requires strong leadership, expertise in power, cooling, and networking, and adherence to industry standards. The position is on-site with after-hours availability for critical incidents and root-cause analyses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure including power distribution, cooling, and network architecture.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute guidelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing data center facility operations and maintenance activities.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Monitor and analyze critical systems performance (power, cooling, network).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Collaborate to ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
