Job summary

PWMG in Indianapolis is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale commercial and data centre construction initiatives. The role collaborates with Project Managers, superintendents, and clients to ensure schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives are met.

The APM assists with procurement, document control, cost tracking, and project closeout, developing skills toward a full Project Manager role in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Experience with mission-critical or data centre projects is a plus.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost tracking.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with planning and coordination of construction activities.
• Support project administration from start to closeout.
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and design consultants.
• Help manage contracts, drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
• Track deliverables and cost reporting; support monthly cost reports.
• Assist with procurement and subcontractor management; track change events.
• Maintain project cost documentation within PM systems.
• Support project meetings and documentation and ensure clear communication.
