Job summary

George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to contribute to project planning, budgeting, safety, and efficiency.

The APM will coordinate across teams, manage budgets and contracts, ensure compliance, and support execution and closeout. This role often acts as Project Manager when needed and requires strong leadership and integrity. The APM will work on-site in Columbus, OH, with responsibilities extending to project engineers and field operations.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of Construction Management experience.
• Associate degree or higher in Construction Management or related field highly preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

• Knows the project better than the customer and coordinates with stakeholders.
• Prepares and administers subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Manages project budget setup, forecasting, and reconciliations.
• Develops production expectations and project schedules; monitors progress.
• Leads closeout activities and ensures documentation is complete.
