Job summary

KCI Telecommunications is seeking an experienced Access Control Technician II to support security and low voltage deployments across data center projects in the Houston area. You will work on new builds and existing data centers, with local travel to sites throughout the market.

You should have 2-4+ years of hands-on access control experience, be capable of troubleshooting independently, and comfortable working on active construction sites with safety protocols in place.

Qualifications

• 2-4+ years of hands-on experience installing and servicing access control systems.
• Comfortable troubleshooting systems independently in the field.
• Ability to pass all required site onboarding and background/security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Installing, terminating, and wiring access control systems and associated hardware
• Pulling, routing, labeling, and dressing low voltage and structured cabling
• Installing and wiring security devices including door contacts, motion detectors, and electric strikes
• Wiring and terminating access control panels, controllers, and boards
• Programming access control head-end software (Lenel, Software House, AMAG, Genetec, S2)
• Mounting and wiring IP cameras and configuring cameras
• Reading wiring diagrams and installation plans
• Providing on-the-job guidance to Level I technicians
• Traveling locally between project sites in the Houston market
