Job summary

Network Cabling Services is seeking a Security/Access Control Technician to support commercial, industrial, and data center projects across the Houston area. The role involves hands-on work with access control systems, cameras, and related security technologies.

You will install, configure, and maintain card readers, biometric systems, and door controllers, troubleshoot CCTV and IP cameras, and perform routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with installation and maintenance of access control systems.
• Familiarity with BICSI, EIA/TIA, or NEC standards is a plus
• Valid Driver's License required
• Willingness to travel to multiple project sites
• Experience at commercial, industrial, and data center sites

Network Cabling Services (NCS)is seeking an experiencedSecurity/Access Control Technicianto support commercial, industrial, and data center projects throughout the Houston area. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with access control systems, security cameras, and related security technologies.

What You'll Do

• Install, configure, and maintain access control systems (card readers, keypads, biometric systems)
• Install and troubleshoot security cameras and surveillance systems
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on security equipment
• Troubleshoot networked security devices and software
• Collaborate with clients to ensure security systems meet operational needs and compliance standards
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, system configurations, and maintenance

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with access control systems
• Strong understanding of security hardware and software integration
• Experience with:
• Card readers (Proximity, Smart Cards, Biometric)
• Electronic locks and door controllers
• CCTV and IP camera systems
• Alarm systems and sensors
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex security systems
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, switches) is a plus
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team on commercial, industrial, and data center sites

Qualifications

• Proven experience with installation and maintenance of access control systems
