**Summary:** Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position is responsible for supporting operational, financial, and data-driven improvement throughout the organization. The Data/Business Analyst works directly with department leaders and staff to develop a practical understanding of departmental workflows, business models, and operational processes; analyzes financial, demographic, administrative, and clinical data; identifies inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement; and assists with developing, implementing, and monitoring performance-improvement strategies. This position prepares and presents reports to senior leadership, makes recommendations based upon findings, and supports the organization’s use of technology, automation, and best practices to improve efficiency, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness. Promotes the mission and philosophy of providing the highest quality healthcare and related services to the medically underserved. Upholds and ensures compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, as well as the mission and values of the organization.**Primary Responsibilities:** • Becomes intimately familiar with each internal entity’s revenue/expense/business model in order to provide input on enhancing efficiency and financial contribution. • Works directly with department leaders and staff to observe and understand day-to-day workflows and operational processes in order to identify inefficiencies, determine root causes, and assist with developing and implementing sustainable process improvements. • Studies “best practices” among similar Community Health Systems and works with CFC leadership to implement those practices. • Analyzes monthly financial statements, assesses inefficiencies, and makes recommendations for performance improvements. Assists department leaders with implement approved performance improvement strategies. • Reviews best practices for staffing models that enhance patient satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. Assists with implementing those models. • Uses data analytics to monitor and report statistical and financial information for timely management decisions. • Prepares monthly provider and departmental dashboards and reports performance progress to senior leadership including financial, demographic, and administrative data. • Assists with data collection for grant projects. • Work with the IT teams to identify and implement AI opportunities and automate processes where possible. • Works with the clinical operations team and finance group to ensure accurate billing and coding of patient encounters. • Performs other duties as assigned.**Essential Job Functions:** The demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
