Job summary

Avicado is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to own and stabilize our dashboard portfolio and data pipelines, partnering with IT on security and access while ensuring trustworthy data for leadership decisions. You will build and maintain Python ETL scripts, extend the data fabric with new sources, and own dashboard lifecycle, from data connections to testing, documentation, and issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in BI, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, and Cloud Storage.
• Strong Python development experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills and cloud data warehouse experience.
• Experience designing and building Tableau dashboards from the ground up.
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub version control workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud data infrastructure and act as primary day-to-day operator of Avicado’s GCP data environment (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Storage).
• Write and maintain Python-based ETL scripts to pull data from source platforms and land it in BigQuery.
• Extend the pipeline portfolio by adding new data sources and enabling downstream reporting.
• Automate recurring data workflows and schedule quality checks and exports.
• Own dashboard portfolio lifecycle: data connections, SQL, refresh schedules, QC, and documentation.
