Job summary

RFA Engineering is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain cloud-based data pipelines and data products that enable engineers, analysts, and data scientists to gain insights from enterprise data.

You will build scalable datasets, collaborate across embedded and digital teams to define metrics, and craft dashboards to visualize performance and health signals. The role emphasizes production-quality Python code, data workflows, and self-directed operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering and analytics.
• Experience with SQL, PySpark, Databricks, Postgres, and MongoDB.
• Experience building datasets at scale across multiple data formats and structures.
• Familiarity with vehicle or embedded system data, including CAN signals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including leading meetings and documenting work.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines and data products for analytics and ML.
• Develop well-structured, self-serve datasets for contributors.
• Collaborate with embedded and digital teams to define performance metrics and data capture.
• Translate raw signals into insights via dashboards and monitoring tools.
• Develop production-ready Python code and data workflows using SQL, PySpark, Databricks.
• Manage storage of diverse data types including images, time-series, geo-tagged data and text.
• Build dashboards using Tableau/Plotly Dash or similar frameworks.
• Create alerting/monitoring for system performance and data pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and reproducible development processes.
• Manage multiple projects with ownership and accountability.
