Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Data Analyst to develop, maintain, and deliver accurate reporting using IBM Cognos, SQL, and Python across the bank.

You will design and optimize reports, validate data, and collaborate with business units to support regulatory, audit, and executive reporting needs with a focus on data quality and documentation.

The role emphasizes automation, scalable reporting, and clear communication with stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, information systems, computer science, finance, accounting, or related field.
• Two or more years of experience in data reporting, business intelligence, data analysis, financial services, or related analytical role.
• Experience developing reports or dashboards in IBM Cognos or similar BI platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, data extracts, and analytical deliverables using IBM Cognos, SQL, Python, and other approved reporting tools.
• Partner with business units across all departments to understand reporting requirements and translate needs into data solutions.
• Write, optimize, and validate SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from enterprise sources.
• Use Python to automate data preparation, validation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain IBM Cognos reports and packages, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
• Validate data outputs for accuracy and work with data owners to resolve data quality issues.
• Prepare concise reporting summaries and analyses to help management identify trends and make decisions.
• Maintain reporting documentation, data definitions, source-to-report mappings, and production schedules.
• Support regulatory, audit, compliance, finance, risk, and executive reporting needs.
