Responsibilities

• Write, optimize, and validate SQL queries to retrieve data from enterprise sources.
• Use Python to automate data preparation, validation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.

• Validate reporting outputs for accuracy and identify data quality issues with data owners and tech partners.
• Create clear reporting summaries to help management spot trends and track key metrics.

Build reliable reporting and analytics that help teams across the Bank measure performance, improve operations, and support decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, data extracts, and analytical deliverables using IBM Cognos, SQL, Python, and other approved reporting tools.
• Collaborate with business units across all departments and divisions to understand reporting needs, translate requirements into data solutions, and provide dependable reporting support.
• Write, optimize, and validate SQL queries to retrieve, join, and analyze data from enterprise data sources, data marts, and operational systems.
• Use Python (as appropriate) to automate data preparation, validation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
• Develop and maintain IBM Cognos reports and packages, ensuring outputs are accurate, efficient, well-documented, and aligned to business requirements.
• Validate reporting outputs for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reasonableness; identify data quality issues and coordinate with data owners, subject matter experts, and technology partners to resolve concerns.
• Create clear, concise reporting summaries and analyses to help management and business partners spot trends, track key metrics, and make informed decisions.
• Maintain reporting documentation, including report specifications, data definitions, source-to-report mapping, business rules, assumptions, and production schedules.
• Support assigned reporting needs across regulatory, audit, compliance, finance, retail, commercial, operations, risk, and executive functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in data reporting, business intelligence, data analysis, financial services, or a related analytical role (preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate business questions into accurate reporting solutions.
• Ability to work with general direction from the Data Analyst Manager, prioritize reporting requests, validate results, and elevate issues when appropriate.
• Proficiency with IBM Cognos report development, SQL querying, relational databases, data validation, and Python-based analysis or automation.>
• Familiarity with banking data, financial reporting, business intelligence concepts, and data governance practices (preferred).
• Demonstrates informal leadership by promoting reporting standards, sharing data knowledge, and helping business partners use information effectively; no direct staff management responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences, including producing explanations, summaries, and recommendations for business users, managers, and senior leaders.
• Maintains confidentiality, integrity, and appropriate use of customer, employee, financial, operational, and proprietary Bank data.
• Builds effective relationships with stakeholders across departments and divisions, including business lines, operations, finance, risk, compliance, technology, and executive support functions.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
