Job summary

Nebraska DHHS is seeking a detail-oriented IT Analyst I to join the Children and Family Services Data and Analytics team. You’ll design, maintain, and analyze databases, build dashboards in Power BI and Excel, and ensure accurate state and federal reporting.

This role focuses on data-driven decision making to improve outcomes for children and families across Nebraska, requiring collaboration with stakeholders and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Computer Science/IT and 1 year related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in CS/IT/Data Analytics or related field.
• Skills in SQL, Power BI, Excel and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Database development and administration: design, maintain and troubleshoot databases.
• Data extraction and integration: write SQL queries, ETL processes, and integrate datasets.
• Data visualization and reporting: build dashboards in Power BI and Excel.
• Advanced data analysis: apply statistical methods with R or Python.
• Federal and State reporting compliance: automate and validate AFCARS/NCANDS reports.
