Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking a Data & Analytics Engineer to develop analytics, BI, and data science solutions that support institutional decision-making. The role focuses on data transformation, semantic modeling, and building analytics-ready datasets using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.

You'll partner with Data Engineering, Governance, Institutional Research, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted data assets, reusable models, and enterprise dashboards while adhering to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field and 3–5 years in data analytics, BI, data science, or data engineering.
• Experience building analytics-ready datasets, data warehouses/lakehouses, and data pipelines with modern cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with strong data visualization and BI tooling.
• Experience with Power BI and data modeling, semantic modeling, and DAX/Power Query.
• Ability to translate business questions into data and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data and analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Python, and related technologies.
• Transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets and build automated pipelines and models.
• Develop enterprise Power BI dashboards, semantic models, and measurements to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with governance, IR, and engineering teams to ensure consistent data definitions and metrics.
• Evaluate and prototype AI/ML solutions to address institutional priorities.
