Job summary

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION in New York City seeks a data-oriented analyst to support the Transit Signal Priority (TSP) program. You will assist with data analysis, collaborate with agency staff, and help develop future priority corridors in a hybrid Manhattan setting.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree or equivalent with related experience, or substantial equivalent education/experience.
  • Alternative options require at least one year of experience as described in option 1.
  • Experience and education may be substituted per the stated options.

Job description

Support NYC DOT Transit Signal Priority (TSP) planning with quantitative analysis and corridor performance evaluation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with data analysis to support the Transit Development (TD) unit's Transit Signal Priority (TSP) program
  • Partner with internal and external agency staff to develop future priority corridors
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing TSP corridors
  • Use data exploration and analysis to identify opportunities to improve TSP effectiveness
  • Support other data-driven assignments related to Real Time Passenger Information, automated enforcement, bus shelters and bus stops, and related prioritization analyses
  • Contribute to other transit priority work as assigned
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college plus two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • High school graduation (or equivalent) plus six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to option 1 or 2, with the condition that all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in option 1

  • Hours/Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
  • Remote work may be available up to 2 days per week under the City and DC37 Remote Work Pilot Program
Additional Information
  • Salary: USD 62,868 - 97,593 per year
  • Minimum experience: 1 year
  • New hires must reside in NYC for the first two years of employment
  • Appointments are subject to OMB approval
Public Service Loan Forgiveness
  • May be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs as a prospective City of New York employee
Residency Requirement
  • New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment
  • City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County
