Job summary

Job description

Title: Data Analyst - Student Employee
Employee Classification: Student Help Regular
Division Name: Finance and Planning
Department: Enterprise Data and Analytics

Job Summary

The Data Analyst Student Employee is responsible for assisting with data analysis, data warehouse development, and business intelligence assignments.

The student will aid with collecting, analyzing, validating, and interpreting data from various sources to support reporting, operational initiatives, and strategic projects.

Responsibilities may include performing data quality assurance testing, validating data against business requirements, identifying, and resolving data discrepancies, documenting processes, creating dashboards and reports, and helping uncover trends and insights that support business objectives.

The role will work closely with data warehouse developers, data scientists, business intelligence analysts, business stakeholders, and other members of the Enterprise Data & Analytics team to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data assets.

Pay Rate

$15.00/hour

Required Qualifications
  • 1. Ability to gain knowledge in a variety of data sources.
  • 2. Experience with data analysis, data profiling and data cleansing.
  • 3. Possess strong self-motivated analysis and problem-solving disposition with ability to synthesize findings into communicable actions and recommendations.
  • 4. Ability to manage project related tasks and monitor progress and results.
  • 5. Possess understanding of structured, semi-structured data solutions and familiarity with operational and analytical database concepts.
  • 6. Able to read and write SQL queries.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1. Demonstrated experience with data analytics programming in Python or R
  • 2. Demonstrated experience with data reporting tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, and/or Cognos.
  • 3. Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis and understanding of appropriate statistical methodologies.
  • 4. Familiarity with data governance concepts.
Work Hours

15-20 hours per week between 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
