Job summary

Arccus Inc. is seeking a contract Data Analyst in the Irvine area to migrate legacy Crystal Reports to Tableau while preserving calculations and business logic. The role focuses on SQL-based reporting and Tableau dashboards with BI enhancements.

You will translate requirements, validate migrated outputs, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve performance and usability. Hybrid work with onsite attendance is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or reporting.
• Strong SQL reporting and analytics experience.
• Hands-on Tableau reporting and interactive dashboards experience.
• Experience migrating Crystal Reports to Tableau (mandatory).
• Advanced SQL knowledge: joins, subqueries, CTES, aggregations, and data transformations.
• Knowledge of inner/outer joins, CASE statements, and window functions.
• Ability to analyze legacy report logic and reproduce results in Tableau.
• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical thinking and good communication with business teams.

Responsibilities

Arccus Inc is hiring a contract Data Analyst to support business intelligence and reporting needs from a hybrid setup in the Irvine area. This role centers on SQL and Tableau, with a mandatory focus on migrating legacy Crystal Reports to Tableau while keeping calculations, business logic, and reporting accuracy intact.

Working closely with business stakeholders, you will translate reporting requirements into technical solutions, validate migrated results, and help improve dashboard performance and usability. The position is designed for an analyst who can analyze legacy report structures and recreate outputs reliably in Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and enhance SQL-based reports and Tableau dashboards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related field.
• Strong practical experience writing SQL queries for reporting and analytics.
• Hands-on experience creating Tableau reports and interactive dashboards.
• Demonstrated experience migrating Crystal Reports to Tableau (mandatory).
• Advanced SQL knowledge, including complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, aggregations, and data transformations.
• Understanding of inner and outer joins, CASE statements, window functions, filtering, and calculated fields.
• Ability to analyze legacy report logic and reproduce the same results accurately in Tableau.
• Experience with report testing, data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently with business teams.

Location and Work Arrangement

• Location: Irvine / Orange County, California (Hybrid – Irvine area).
• Work model: Hybrid, with onsite attendance as required.
• Preference: Local candidates preferred, including those residing in Irvine and surrounding areas who can accommodate the hybrid schedule.
