Job summary

VTG is seeking a Data Analyst in Washington, DC (remote eligible) to support the Submarine Industrial Base (SIB) Data team. You will collect data requests, run Python and SQL scripts, and deliver clear analyses with visuals for senior leadership.

This hands-on role requires strong data skills and the ability to explain results to non-technical audiences. You will collaborate with data engineers, maintain data dictionaries, and support data governance, quality, and tooling across multiple sources

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or related field; four years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

• Collect, log, and scope data requests from leadership; confirm the underlying question, due date, and intended use.
• Write and execute ad hoc SQL and Python scripts to aggregate and clean data.
• Develop complete responses with summaries, tables, and visualizations for stakeholders.
• Document sources, methods, and limitations to ensure repeatable results.
• Collaborate with data engineers/analysts to ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.
• Maintain data standards, metadata, and the data catalog; support data governance practices.
