Job summary

Children's Aid Society is seeking a Data Analyst to support the Office of Performance Management. The role focuses on database creation, data management, reporting, and collaboration with diverse programs and central departments to drive data-driven outcomes for NYC children and families.

The analyst will develop dashboards, standardize data definitions, and help translate technical issues into insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Arts or Sciences with emphasis on database design, development, and data management for social/health sciences; Master’s preferred.
Minimum 3 years of demonstrated expertise with Excel, SQL scripting, and relational databases.
2+ years of experience building or supporting dashboards using Power BI.
1+ years of experience working with multiple data systems and integrating data for reporting or analytics purposes.
Experience documenting data processes, definitions, or reporting methodologies.

Responsibilities

Create and strengthen systems for data collection, management, reporting, and analysis including documenting all procedures.
Create databases to aggregate data from multiple sources to track process and outcome measures.
Create and produce recurring and ad hoc reports of operational and performance indicators for all levels of staff, Board, and external audiences.
Analyze actual performance against projected performance as well as trends within and across programs on a regular basis.
Collaborate with Performance Management staff in working directly with programs and departments to implement all components of a comprehensive performance management system.
Assist staff with accessing and analyzing data to inform strategic and programmatic decisions.
Manage the exchange of data pursuant to data-sharing agreements, observing all confidentiality and use requirements.
Train staff on data collection, entry, management, and analysis.
Participate in Data Governance Council.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to monitor KPIs and operational metrics.
Support the creation of agency-wide performance dashboard by standardizing data definitions, reporting logic, and KPI structures across divisions.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and IT teams to connect and organize data from multiple program systems into centralized reporting structures.
Document data flows, definitions, and reporting processes as part of data governance initiatives.
Inventory and map organizational data systems to understand data collection, storage, and usage.
Develop scalable data pipelines and reporting processes for centralized analytics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
