About The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and solutions-oriented Data Analyst, Payroll, to join our remote team. In this role, you will support the design, administration, and ongoing enhancement of our compensation and incentive programs. You will work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners to deliver data insights, optimize processes, and ensure compensation accuracy and compliance. This position is critical in maintaining integrity in incentive payouts and supporting strategic compensation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and manage payouts for all compensation and incentive plans
- Audit and reconcile incentive payments to ensure alignment with plan rules
- Conduct testing of new plan implementations and system enhancements for accuracy
- Interpret compensation policies and respond to employee inquiries
- Collaborate with HR business partners and external stakeholders on compensation issues
- Develop training materials and documentation to clarify compensation plans and commission structures
- Perform in-depth data analysis to validate incentive payouts against performance metrics
- Utilize Excel, SQL, UKG, PowerAutomate, and Power BI to manipulate and validate large data sets
- Identify trends and discrepancies to promote equity and accuracy in compensation
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports tracking compensation trends and financial impacts
- Provide ad hoc reporting for audits, compliance reviews, and strategic decisions
- Identify and recommend process automation opportunities in HRIS, payroll, and analytics systems
- Partner with HRIS, Payroll, and IT teams to ensure data integrity and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Communicate effectively across HR, Payroll, Finance, and business leadership to align incentive programs with company goals
- Train managers and employees on incentive calculations and timelines
- Serve as an escalation point for incentive discrepancies and resolve issues through data-driven analysis
- Advise management on compensation policy matters and recommend updates to ensure compliance
- Manage relationships with external vendors supporting compensation functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; or equivalent education and experience
- Familiarity with payroll and HR concepts
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, UKG, PowerAutomate, and Power BI
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and critical thinking ability
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
