Job summary

National Machinery is seeking a Data Analyst to write and maintain SQL queries against ERP and business systems, and to build reports and dashboards used by production, engineering, purchasing and finance.

You will work directly with business users to clarify requirements, deliver actionable insights, document data sources and reporting logic, and contribute to data quality improvements in an on-site environment in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in a data analyst, reporting analyst or similar role.
• Strong SQL skills: Joins, aggregation, and the ability to read and troubleshoot queries written by others.
• Experience building reports or dashboards in a tool such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau or similar.
• Ability to translate business questions into data requirements and explain results to non-technical audiences.
• Attention to detail and the judgment to question results that don’t look right.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain SQL queries against ERP and related business systems to answer questions across the company.
• Build and support reports and dashboards used by production, engineering, purchasing and finance.
• Work with business users to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Investigate data discrepancies and identify root causes and corrections.
• Document data sources, definitions and report logic for maintainability and data quality improvements.
