About The Role

The Hanover’s Claims Analytics team is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to join our growing group. This role can be based remotely within the U.S. or in a hybrid arrangement from our Worcester, MA office. As a Lead Analyst, you will be responsible for using data to inform business strategy and improve claims operations across multiple segments. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead key projects, develop advanced data visualizations, and mentor junior analysts.

This is a full-time, exempt position offering opportunities for leadership, strategic input, and direct impact on operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret business performance data, delivering insights and recommendations
  • Drive cross-departmental collaboration for data integration and reporting consistency
  • Create advanced visualizations to enhance understanding of complex data sets
  • Evaluate and communicate internal/external factors impacting financial results
  • Partner with departments such as actuarial, finance, and underwriting to ensure data cohesion
  • Support development of scalable data infrastructure and analytical capabilities
  • Build and maintain dashboards, forecasting models, and performance monitoring tools
  • Respond to ad hoc requests and produce dynamic reporting under tight deadlines
  • Guide junior analysts and promote best practices in data governance and analysis
  • Explore innovative technologies and tools to enhance analytics workflows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, finance, actuarial science, analytics, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics or a related field
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident (sponsorship is not available)
  • Expert proficiency in Excel and intermediate experience with SQL
  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
  • Proficient in managing multiple priorities and meeting critical deadlines
  • Familiar with data models, architecture, governance, and integration best practices
  • Experience with predictive modeling and trend analysis is a plus
