Job Description:
This job posting is for a Cybersecurity Software Engineering position at Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL). ACL is dedicated to creating cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC). The position offers the opportunity to work on projects that are crucial to national security, empowering the nation’s heroes with game-changing Information Operations (IO) and Computer Network Operations (CNO) technologies.
The Role:
• This is a full-time, onsite position at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
• The ideal candidate will have a passion for cybersecurity and a strong background in software development, particularly in C, C++, and Python.
• The job requires expertise in kernel-space and user-space development, networking protocols, debugging tools like gdb, Valgrind, and windbg, and proficiency in guided research tasks.
• While a broad spectrum of experience in cybersecurity areas is desirable, the position focuses on candidates with expertise in one or more of the following:
• Applied research skills
• Embedded systems development
• Compiler Design and Implementation
• Machine-learning/Artificial Intelligence
• Reverse engineering on various architectures
• Vulnerability analysis of source code or binaries
• IDS and PSP Design and Implementation
• Cyber/IO/CNO R&D
Responsibilities:
• As part of the ACL team, you will:
• Contribute to projects that redefine the cutting edge of customer and internally funded R&D.
• Author technical portions of proposals.
• Present results and demonstrate prototypes to colleagues and program customers.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Security, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated skills in user-space or kernel-space development.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python software development.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and socket application development.
• Expertise in debugging tools (e.g., gdb, windbg, Valgrind).
• Experience with guided technical research explorations.
• Eligibility for Top-Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Experience in any of the areas listed above, particularly in applied research, embedded systems, compiler design, machine learning, reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, IDS/PSP design, or Cyber/IO/CNO R&D.
• Passion for cybersecurity technologies, self-motivation, and strong research and prototyping skills.
• All ACL team members are eligible for participation in a Lockheed Martin Incentive Plan.
• Lockheed Martin offers a variety of alternate work schedules, including a 4×10-hour day schedule with 3 days off per week.
