Summary:

This position resides in Market Pricing and works alongside IT rating teams to program and validate insurance product rates and related services. The person in this role will leverage a blend of business and technical competency to carry out their daily tasks.

The data analyst develops and validates data that will directly contribute to the overall performance of the actuarial area, with the potential to positively impact other departments across the organization and the results of the company. They will be responsible for keeping data up-to-date and error-free, requiring a thorough understanding of the data.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain countrywide data sets for all lines of business and systems.
• Develop and validate data.
• Ensure data accuracy and timeliness by developing optimal processes and procedures.
• Use insurance knowledge to build datasets for Market Pricing's analytical needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Advanced Analytics and IT.
• Act as a liaison between the actuarial data team and other data users, promote database adoption, communicate data requests, teach database and SQL usage, and lead training meetings.

Experience and Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience or equivalent related knowledge.
• Experience in quantitative analyses.
• Analytical and coding experience.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes with management support.
• Complete basic to intermediate analyses independently.
• SQL or SAS coding knowledge.
• Participation in market pricing training with significant knowledge retention.
• Support experience in areas such as PL/CL Product/Underwriting, Market Pricing, Claims, or Actuarial Reserving for at least 6 months.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
