Role of a Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will work closely with Business Stakeholders and Program Operations to complete various projects. Responsibilities include developing ad hoc reports, performing in-depth data analysis, troubleshooting data issues, conducting research, and partnering with Business and Data Stewards to support data quality efforts. The role involves retrieving complex data from disparate sources and simplifying it for team use. Basic understanding of project management and the skills to execute project activities are essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collect and evaluate research or complex statistical data, maintaining computerized data tracking.
2. Collaborate with SMEs to perform deep data analysis and design/develop ad hoc reports based on business requests.
3. Compile and prepare reports of findings, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and update as necessary.
4. Use specialized software (Excel) to analyze research data, identify trends, conduct root cause analysis, and suggest process improvements.
5. Work with program operations to identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues, and write queries or reports for analytical projects.
6. Maintain records of research methods and results.
7. Design and develop databases for data collection, tracking, and reporting, using Microsoft SharePoint.
8. Communicate project status effectively to management and stakeholders.
9. Uphold the Crawford Code of Conduct.

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• Technical training in computer skills.
• Knowledge of Insurance and Management concepts.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Strong experience with SQL and database systems like Oracle, SQL Server, or Access.
• Extensive experience with Power BI for creating visualizations.
• Preferred: Knowledge of data modeling.
• Ability to facilitate meetings and gather information effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
• Proactive attitude to learning and accomplishing business objectives.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to talk, hear, see, and read.
• Manual dexterity for operating a keyboard.
• Ability to handle files, use hands/fingers for repetitive tasks, and perform physical activities like standing and walking.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Visual activities related to data analysis and computer work.
