Job summary

Deloitte invites applicants for a Data & AI Solutions Engineering Summer Scholar role in Chicago to tackle real-world business challenges using data, AI, and scalable deployment. You’ll bridge AI engineering with data infrastructure to create data-driven, deployable solutions and autonomous workflows for client use.

Ideal candidates are pursuing CS/Math/Data Analytics degrees, with strong fundamentals in SQL, Python, and visualization tools, and a willingness to travel up to 50% for client work.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and expected to graduate by Spring/Summer 2028 pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Data Analytics, MIS, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related program.
• Strong academic track record (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0).
• Experience or coursework in data processing and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Informatica), and familiarity with analytics, data visualization, or big data platforms (e.g., Tableau, Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Ability to travel up to 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries you serve.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at time of employment
• You must reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in scripting languages and data visualization platforms, with the ability to extract, transform, merge, and analyze data sets for actionable business insights
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to drive innovation and operational improvements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Willingness to learn and implement new concepts, frameworks, and emerging technologies
