Job summary

Scale AI, a leader in data for AI training, seeks a Data Acquisition Lead in New York. You will own the end-to-end commercial motion to secure data, build a thesis on domains to own, and close deals from outreach to signature.

Collaborate with legal, finance, and research teams to define data value and craft scalable processes. 5+ years in BD/Corp Dev and AI data market experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years across business development, corp dev, commercial strategy, or GTM. Track record of creating a new commercial motion.
• Strong track record managing external relationships.
• Good business judgment and quick evaluation of partnership value.
• Clear communication with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on approach to building new functions from the ground up.
• Experience in AI, data infrastructure, marketplaces, or high-growth tech.
• Familiarity with post-training, RL, evals, or synthetic data.
• Experience with data licensing, IP, or regulated data.
• Experience partnering with Legal and Finance on complex agreements.

Responsibilities

• Map the supply side and build a thesis on domains worth owning and ordering.
• Invent deal structures with Scale’s legal team for pricing.
• Close deals from cold outreach to signature.
• Communicate with the technical side about what makes a dataset trainable.
• Build a repeatable data acquisition pipeline after initial hands-on work.
