Job summary

AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer (DAPS)-Journeyman to advance data acquisition software for EMP testing at the Patuxent River site in MD. The role emphasizes Python, GUI design, and integration with legacy DAPS systems and RF transceivers.

The position follows an Agile framework, with on-site work and potential DoD Secret clearance requirements. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of relevant experience and a strong DevOps background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Python and with DevOps/CI.
• Experience with complex application architectures and API design.
• GUI design experience for OS or web applications.
• Experience modernizing legacy software and Agile DevOps methods.
• Ability to collaborate with customers, engineers, and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Design a Windows app serving as the new DAPS software.
• Work in Agile Sprints to deliver tested software each cycle.
• Develop system architecture design for DAPS in an Agile framework.
• Create System Architecture documentation and project-related docs.
• Interface software with legacy DAPS SQL databases and ODS transceivers.
• Develop GUI to control software functions and integrate measurement equipment.
