Steamboat Springs High School seeks a Special Education Athletic Support Paraprofessional for the Dance Team season from 08/18/2026 to 12/01/2026. This temporary, hourly position supports a student athlete during practices and competitions, with duties including preparation, coordination with coaches, and ensuring the student’s readiness.

The role requires a high school diploma and strong interpersonal skills, with emphasis on confidentiality and teamwork in a school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain discipline with large groups of students.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, staff, co-workers, administrators and parents.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Help the student athlete prepare for practice with clothing and meeting location.
• Communicate with coaches of any special considerations for the day.
• Communicate with coaches about absences, change to schedule, workout plan, etc (along with parents).
• Accompany the student athlete to the team meeting and then to the specific training squad for the day.
• If the para travels with the student to a competition, then they will accompany the student for the entirety of the event.
