Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Newton, MA is seeking a Dance Movement Therapist (R-DMT/BC-DMT) or an Expressive Arts Therapist with a movement focus to join our Programming Team. The role designs and delivers wellness activities blending art, music, and movement to support residents in assisted living and memory care, enhancing quality of life.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Training in recreational activities and dementia care.
• Understanding of Alzheimer's and related dementias.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement a seven-day activity program that is engaging.
• Conduct one-on-one, small group and large group activities per schedule.
• Support residents' independent activity pursuits within programming.
• Adapt programs to meet diverse resident needs and abilities.
• Monitor resident conditions and report changes to supervisor.
• Engage residents to participate in wellness activities and excursions.
