South County School of Performing Arts – Wickford, RI

South County School of Performing Arts (SCSPA) is seeking a passionate and experienced Dance Instructor to join our growing team! We are a vibrant, community-centered performing arts school offering exceptional instruction in dance, music, and theatre. Our programs are built around creativity, confidence, and connection—and we’re looking for someone who shares that mission.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and professionalism to group dance classes for students of all ages. Instruction may include ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and/or creative movement, depending on the instructor’s strengths. Applicants must be comfortable working with young children and able to contribute to choreography for studio showcases and special performances.

What You’ll Do:

• Teach engaging, age-appropriate dance classes in a fun and safe environment

• Choreograph routines for student showcases and school performances

• Communicate with parents and staff in a professional and friendly manner

• Maintain a positive and encouraging studio atmosphere

• Collaborate with our artistic team on curriculum and event planning

What We’re Looking For:

• Prior teaching experience in dance (minimum 1 year)

• Strong technique in one or more dance styles (ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, etc.)

• Ability to engage and manage groups of young students

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Availability for afternoon/evening and weekend classes

• Background check required

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with choreography and staging for performances

• Comfort teaching both recreational and performance-based classes

• Interest in contributing to other performing arts initiatives at SCSPA
