Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking a field-based Damage Prevention Inspector in Indiana to implement and coordinate the company’s damage prevention program across pipelines, appurtenances, compressor stations and related facilities. You will patrol, locate, inspect excavation activities, and document operations to maintain reliability and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with MS Office applications is a plus.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark facilities per Company Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures prior to and during excavations.
• Perform pipeline patrols, population density surveys, leak detection surveys and inspections per Company procedures.
• Coordinate local Damage Prevention and Public Awareness liaison activities and complete documentation per the Public Awareness Plan.
• Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with procedures for excavation near pipeline facilities.
• Represent the Company in dealings with landowners, officials, and at local meetings (One-Call, Pipeline Groups, Soil Conservation, USFS, etc.).
• Train and oversee company and third-party personnel as required.
• Perform governmental compliance activities (PHMSA, State Agencies, EPA, USFS, etc.) and document accordingly.
• Perform mapping, recordkeeping, and data entry per Company policies.
