Job summary

Schnabel Engineering in Seattle, WA is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer to join our growing geotechnical and environmental practice. You will develop both field and analytical skills, contribute to team projects, and grow as a professional within a strong, employee-owned firm.

Responsibilities include applying engineering principles, preparing CAD drawings, developing plans, writing technical reports, and performing field data collection and inspections of hydraulic structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions as part of a team under supervision.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications for construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways and dam components.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.
