Job summary

Arup in Dallas seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design across multi-disciplinary teams. You will design airside and hydronic systems for large institutional and healthcare projects, mentor engineers, and work with clients and code officials to deliver integrated, sustainable solutions.

The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and project management within a dynamic, decarbonizing built environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or architectural engineering.
• 8+ years of professional experience designing and building HVAC systems for medium to large buildings.
• Familiarity with CMC, IECC/ASHRAE 90.1, LEED energy efficiency and indoor air quality, NFPA.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based work.
• Excellent presentation skills with colleagues and clients at all levels.
• Experience leading project discipline teams of 3+ engineers and managing budgetof projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering designs and provide multi-disciplinary design leadership on projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and code officials to deliver integrated projects through construction.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and work with project managers to deliver coordinated designs.
• Mentor team members and provide timely feedback and recognition.
• Maintain strong client relations related to project delivery and repeat business.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials with sustainable design methods.
• Present technical material to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in local Professional Associations.
• Maintain quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.
