Job summary

First Search in Dallas seeks an HVAC Systems Engineer to lead design and innovation of thermal solutions, optimizing efficiency and reducing energy use while ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, AHRI and UL standards.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree and at least five years in HVAC development, plus hands-on HPDM and advanced simulations; on-site work with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC system development.
• Proficiency in advanced simulation tools such as the Oak Ridge Labs Heat Pump Design Model (HPDM).
• Strong understanding of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics.
• Experience in developing control algorithms and working with OEMs/ODMs.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems using advanced simulation tools to optimize component integration.
• Validate HVAC systems and equipment by comparing simulation results with commissioning data.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to bring new products to market.
• Drive continuous improvements in HVAC technology to maintain competitive advantage.
