Overview

The Dairy Queen Assistant Manager supports the Manager in running the restaurant. Some evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required.

Essential Functions

• Act as Manager on Duty in the manager's absence
• Recruit & train store personnel
• Occasionally create employee schedules
• Assist with inventory & placing product orders
• Maintain exceptional customer serviceCreate a positive work environment for all team members
• Coach and counsel employees as needed
• Maintain site appearance, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
• Create and submit daily reports as needed
• Implement and maintain safety procedures
• Control all cash and merchandise inventories
• Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations
• Perform opening and closing duties as needed
• Other duties as required

Basic Qualifications & Physical Requirements

• 18+ years of age
• 1+ years in restaurant management preferred
• Authorized to work in the United States
• ServSafe or Foodservice Manager Certification preferred
• Valid Driver License and reliable transportation
• Safely lift 55 lbs. and carry short distances
• Stand and walk for 8+ consecutive hours
• Climb a step stool, reach with arms above head, grasp with hands, crouch and stoop
• Able to work for short periods in cold temperatures, such as when stocking freezers
• Accurately select options from a cash register and touch-screen monitor
• Communicate effectively in English (hear, speak, read, and write)
• Accurately take payment and count change
• Count and weigh product; calculate basic math
