Job summary

Toft Dairy Inc. in Sandusky, Ohio is seeking a Food Safety and Quality Manager (Dairy Manufacturing) to oversee all aspects of food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, laboratory operations, and employee training programs.

The role focuses on maintaining compliance with FDA and local regulations, leading internal and external audits, and driving continuous improvement across the facility’s quality systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Food Science, Dairy Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee Food Safety Plans, SOPs, quality programs, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, state, local, and company food safety requirements.
• Lead internal, customer, and third-party audits.
• Serve as the primary contact during external audits and inspections.
• Manage food safety, GMP, quality, and compliance training programs.
• Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Perform microbiological, allergen, environmental, and quality testing.
• Monitor plant sanitation, product quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain laboratory records, equipment calibration, and testing data.
• Manage nonconforming products and root cause investigations.
• Order laboratory supplies and maintain laboratory organization.
• Partner with production and farm operations to support quality improvement initiatives.
• Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the facility.

Education
