Job summary

Dutch Farms in Indiana is seeking a Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist to oversee both quality control and receiving operations in our dairy facility. This hands-on leadership role supervises a small team and coordinates with cross-functional departments to ensure product standards are consistently met.

You will supervise inspections, maintain records, train staff, and lead audits while collaborating with production, warehouse, and QA to drive continuous improvement and food safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or technical degree in food science, quality management, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a food manufacturing or dairy plant, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance, food safety standards (e.g., SQF, HACCP), and receiving procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example, manage workloads, and motivate a team.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy containers and standing for extended periods.
• Proficient in basic computer systems and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform inspection and testing of milk and dairy products to ensure compliance with company and regulatory quality standards.
• Maintain accurate quality control records and documentation; ensure proper escalation of deviations.
• Lead regular quality audits and monitor corrective actions as needed.
• Train and support QA Technicians and production staff on quality protocols and food safety standards.
• Partner with the Quality Assurance Manager to analyze trends and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Supervise cleaning and sanitation of containers, equipment, and work areas.
• Ensure adherence to all safety, sanitation, and regulatory protocols.
• Provide guidance, scheduling, and support for QA/Receiving staff.
• Collaborate with production, warehouse, and quality departments to streamline operations and resolve issues.
