Job summary

HP Hood in New York is seeking a Standby Operator to help run filling and packaging lines, perform dairy processing tasks, and meet daily production goals. This role requires standing 8+ hours, frequent bending and lifting up to 50 lbs, shifts that vary week to week, and adherence to NY regulations, GMP, OSHA and union CBA guidelines.

You will maintain records, support SQF tasks, and collaborate with supervisors to keep operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work well with people.
• Strong communication skills.
• Multi-tasking ability.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Daily operations of filling and packaging equipment on a production line.
• Operate equipment in dairy processing key areas.
• Comply with New York State regulations.
• Follow GMP and sanitation policies.
• Follow OSHA regulations and plant safety policies.
• Adhere to local union CBA guidelines.
• Operate tools and perform general cleaning and grounds maintenance.
• Maintain environmental and production paperwork with accurate records.
• Build relationships with sanitation authorities and vendors.
• Support SQF by keeping area sanitary.
• Maintain positive relationships with supervisors and managers.
