Job summary

Relco is seeking a Process Engineer to design, analyze, optimize, and support industrial food and dairy processing systems. You will work on liquid and cheese projects from concept through startup, collaborating with customers, regulators, sales, project teams and field crews.

The role requires a degree in engineering, 2+ years in dairy processing, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, bio-systems, or electrical engineering required.
• 2+ years’ experience in the sanitary food, beverage or dairy processing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in audits and process reviews of customers’ existing process lines
• Collaborate on conceptual design of cheese process according to customer requirements
• Prepare detailed calculations for mass and energy balances, heat transfer for production and CIP
• Collaborate with engineers and vendors to specify process equipment such as pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping systems
• Prepare technical documentation including complete P&IDs, process descriptions, and specifications
• Assist with on-site and remote customer meetings for equipment and solutions presentations
• Review proposals prior to delivery to customers
• Support commissioning, startup, and performance verification at customer sites
• Troubleshoot process and equipment performance issues
• Attend continuing education classes and industry events
• Other projects as assigned by supervisor
