Job summary

Albertsons Companies’ Safeway division is hiring a Plant Production Manager in San Leandro, CA to supervise daily plant operations, including ordering, processing, packaging, sanitation and shipping. You will support the Plant Manager and lead shifts, with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency.

The role requires 6–8 years in manufacturing with at least 3 years as a Production Supervisor; dairy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years in manufacturing/operations with minimum 3 years as Production Supervisor.
• Dairy experience preferred; equivalent food manufacturing experience considered.
• ESL and UHT experience are a plus.
• Proven production background and knowledge of operations/manufacturing/engineering/quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership for plant personnel.
• Ensure adherence to Safeway policies and procedures.
• Develop a work environment emphasizing trust, teamwork, quality and safety.
• Assign accountability, hire, develop, evaluate, train, and discipline staff.
• Support Plant Manager and act in their absence; assist during 3rd shift.
• Lead lean initiatives and use tools to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP).
