Job summary

Albertsons Companies in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Plant Production Manager to lead daily plant operations and drive efficiency across ordering, processing, packaging, sanitation and shipping.

You will supervise teams, ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines, partner with the Plant Manager, and implement Lean initiatives to reduce costs and raise productivity. Strong leadership and regulatory know-how are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree in a related field; experience may substitute for education.
• 6–8 years in manufacturing/operations; minimum 3 years as Production Supervisor.
• Dairy experience preferred; equivalent food manufacturing experience considered.
• Lean manufacturing principles knowledge.
• Experience with operations/manufacturing/engineering/quality assurance.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership for plant personnel.
• Ensure adherence to Safeway policies, practices, and procedures.
• Develop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork, quality and safety.
• Assign accountability, build teams, hire, develop, evaluate, train, discipline, via shift supervisors.
• Handle union grievances.
• Support the Plant Manager during union contract negotiations.
• Communicate items of interest or concern to employees and Plant Manager via written and oral communication.
• Utilize existing analytical tools to create customized category insights.
• Develop, monitor and ensure timely completion of plant goals/action plans.
• Assist Plant Manager in operational improvements to reduce costs and increase productivity.
• Utilize Lean manufacturing principles to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with guidelines (Safeway, OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP).
• Process owner of plant processes and regulatory compliance.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist Plant Manager in making operational improvements to reduce costs and to increase productivity.
• Utilize new technology and Lean manufacturing principles and processes available to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure production of a quality product in compliance with Safeway, Federal and State guidelines.
• Ensure regulatory compliance as appropriate (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, Etc.) * Process owner of the plant processes.

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Possess The Following

• 4 -year college degree in a related field. Experience may substitute for education.
• 6 to 8 years in manufacturing/operations environment. Minimum 3 years as Production Supervisor.
• Dairy experience preferred; however, equivalent experience in food manufacturing will be considered.
• ESL and UHT experience is a plus.
• Proven production background.
• Proven knowledge of operations/manufacturing/engineering/quality assurance.
• Strong knowledge of specific plant operations and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Working knowledge of financial cost accounting and budgeting. Interpersonal and team building skills.
• Ability to manage and develop employees.
• Strong verbal/written communication.
• Ability to interface with regulatory agencies skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business related applications.
