Job summary

Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Buyer Planner/Material Scheduler to manage procurement and inventory planning for UNC Dairy's manufacturing operations.

You will drive demand planning, coordinate with suppliers, and align production schedules to optimize material availability and minimize carrying costs. The role requires strong analytical skills, ERP proficiency (SAP), and collaboration with procurement, production, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or production scheduling roles
• Proven experience working within MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Execute SAP MRP to generate purchase requisitions and maintain optimal inventory levels
• Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to determine material requirements across all manufacturing facilities
• Coordinate material flow with Raw Material Inventory Planners to ensure safety stock levels
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust planning parameters based on demand variability and lead times
• Manage expediting activities and communicate material shortages proactively to stakeholders
• Participate in new product launches to ramp up volume and qualify secondary sources of supply
• Monitor changeover of part codes and dispose inventory in outside warehouses
