Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear directions.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization, including hourly staff.
• Commitment to working safely at all times.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise store day-to-day operations within various departments.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career paths and development; participate in promotion decisions.
• Document disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Manages P&L, achieves sales, and maintains department shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast, friendly customer service and Meijer standards.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Ensure training is completed and staff are thoroughly trained.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
• Maintain a safe work environment; ensure reliable attendance.
