Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a team member for the Perishable Department to provide quality customer service, maintain safety standards, and maximize sales. You will assist customers, handle deliveries, and ensure merchandise is properly stocked and displayed.

The role requires adherence to Food Lion policies, training completion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a neat appearance and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
• Courteous and helpful to other associates
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store items
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise follows policies and guidelines
• Maintain proper product levels in the Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream)
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as requested
• Clean and sanitize the department
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions; report accidents
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge
• Complete CBT and Training Packet courses
• Perform other duties as assigned
