Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear directions to team members.
• Proven ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze basic financial data.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Promote succession planning and identify development needs for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and make recommendations on discharge.
• Own P&L, achieve sales goals and maintain shrink control for the department.
• Model exceptional customer service and Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed service and sales goals.
• Ensure thorough training of team members and adherence to training requirements.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
