Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Dairy Department supervisor to lead the team and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced store setting. You will ensure a safe, clean environment, support sales goals, and guide associates in daily duties.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, inventory, promotions, and strict adherence to food safety and company guidelines while embodying Kroger's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
• Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed goals and targets through teamwork.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
• Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, food safety regulations and company guidelines.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products and using knowledge to make suggestions.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Understand the store's layout and locate products.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Inform and educate department associates about current and upcoming promotions, especially ads affecting the Dairy department.
• Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
• Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and act on financial reports.
• Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and signs.
• Plan and organize inventory processes, note discrepancies.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and preventative maintenance.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environments.
• Ability to manage conflict in a nonconfrontational manner.
• Ability to handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
