In this non-exempt role you will greet customers, help locate items, unload trucks, stock displays, and keep the department clean and safe. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds and following store rules; prior retail experience is helpful and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting and recording
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting them to the products they’re looking for, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, noting suggestions or requests, and performing tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Rotates and replenishes merchandise and ensures highest quality standards are met.
• Unloads trucks and places product in appropriate storage area.
• Faces merchandise.
• Keeps the department clean and organized, including cases and floors.
• Builds end caps displays and fills through the week as necessary.
• Orders product and supply requested by department manager.
• Maintains organized storage area, safe floors, and correct temperature; adheres to hygiene rules.
• Follows company policies and store guidelines; reports to work on time.
