Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc is seeking a Dairy Clerk in the Dairy department. You will rotate and replenish merchandise, ensure quality standards, and provide courteous, friendly customer service in a fast paced store environment.

You will greet customers, assist with finding items, stock displays, unload shipments, and keep the department clean and organized while following company guidelines and showing professionalism in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Less than high school or equivalent experience and six months or less of similar or related experience.
• Must be able to perform simple addition and subtraction; copy figures, count and record.
• Must understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Rotates and replenishes merchandise and ensures highest quality standards are met.
• Unloads trucks and places product in appropriate storage area.
• Faces merchandise and maintains department cleanliness.
• Builds end caps displays and fills through the week as necessary.
• Orders product and supplies as requested by the department manager.
• Maintains organized storage area and safe, clean floor conditions.
• Adheres to company policies and store guidelines.
• Reports to work as scheduled and on time.
