Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Dairy Clerk to maintain the Dairy department by rotating and replenishing products while delivering courteous, friendly service. You will greet customers, help locate items, and support store operations with organized displays and timely restocking.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting and recording.
• Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.
• Education and Experience: Less than high school or equivalent experience and six months or less of similar or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in department or elsewhere in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and passing along requests to improve the shopping experience.
• Rotates and replenishes merchandise and ensures highest quality standards are met.
• Unloads trucks and places product in appropriate storage area; faces merchandise and cleans the department.
• Maintains department cleanliness and displays; ensures storage area is organized and floor is non-slippery.
• Builds end caps displays and coordinates restocking through the week; orders products as requested.
• Adheres to store policies, personal hygiene and dress codes; reports to work on time.
• Performs other duties and special projects as required.
