Qualifications

• Retail experience is required.
• Second language ability (speaking, reading or writing) is preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Basic math skills including counting and simple arithmetic are expected.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer questions about products.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and suggest items to customers.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of dairy specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and ensure orders are fulfilled.
• Recommend dairy items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures.
• Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Report any illegal activity including theft or fraud.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Maintain honesty and integrity in handling customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when resolving issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
