Job summary

Komline in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior D365 Project Accounting & Costing Implementation Lead to design and implement project accounting and manufacturing costing in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

You will partner with controllers, project managers, engineering, and manufacturing to standardize budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, and POC processes for engineer-to-order and make-to-order environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in accounting, finance, manufacturing, information systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of Dynamics AX or D365 Finance & Operations functional experience with hands-on responsibility for project accounting and manufacturing costing.
• Participation in at least two full ERP implementation lifecycles, including D365 delivery in engineer-to-order or make-to-order manufacturing.
• Ability to trace and reconcile material, labor, overhead, WIP, and project costs across production orders and multilevel assemblies.
• Experience translating POC and revenue-recognition policies into system processes, testing, controls, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of project budgets, actuals, commitments, forecasts, estimate to complete, and estimate at completion.
• Ability to work directly with controllers and project managers to document where standard functionality, a third-party solution, or custom development is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to Komline sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering and design with cross-functional teams; translate policies into system requirements and controls.
• Configure project structures, budgets, forecasts, billing, and posting rules; establish change-control processes.
• Define POC and revenue-recognition requirements with Finance; manage versions and reconciliations.
• Design estimate-to-complete and estimate-at-completion processes with forecast visibility.
• Trace costs through production orders and assemblies; identify gaps in cost detail and traceability.
• Evaluate D365 capabilities, third-party solutions, and extensions with the solution architect.
• Define reporting for budgets, actuals, commitments, forecasts, and POC; reconcile to GL.
• Own mapping and validation for open projects, budgets, forecasts, WIP; coordinate migrations.
• Lead testing of cost flows, forecast changes, billing, and period-end scenarios; drive acceptance.
• Train project managers and controllers on cost-review, forecasting, POC, and close procedures.
• Support cutover, initial project reporting, and post-go-live stabilization across Komline's portfolio.
